Streamline the distribution of your portfolios, reduce your administrative burden and reach your target market.
In response to the growth in the use of discretionary fund managers (DFMs) and Model Portfolio Services (MPS) by Financial Advisers, two years ago we launched a project to allow DFMS to communicate the effectiveness of their MPS via FE Analytics, the award-winning fund research tool.
For the first time, Advisers were able to compare and analyse model portfolios in the same way that they can with funds. We called the service FE Transmission and it is being used by some of the most respected DFMs on the market today.
Reach your target market
FE Analytics is used by 80% of advisers that consume third-party research for fund picking or building in-house solutions* and over a third of all UK investment intermediaries. Our Adviser clients tell us that they use a variety of investment options within their investment proposition and around 70% use a DFM in some capacity. By making your model portfolio data available via FE Transmission, you can reach up to 9,000 people logging into FE Analytics every day.
''Including Liontrust's broad range of risk-targeted model portfolios on FE Transmission is another important step in expanding our distribution across the adviser market.” Simon Hildrey, Head of Marketing and Distribution Strategy at Liontrust
“We have seen a surge in adviser interest in our model portfolios following the inclusion of our models on FE Analytics.” Lawrence Cook Director of Marketing and Business Development Thesis Asset Management
The driving force behind launching the service was to improve transparency in the Model Portfolio Service marketplace which has often been accused of being hard to evaluate. In a recent client survey we found that 86% of advisers said that they found it ‘difficult’ or ‘very difficult’ to research DFM propositions.
By partnering with FE you can position your business alongside the other market-leading DFMs that have embraced the trend towards transparency and information sharing.
The service also allows Advisers and DFMs alike to use comparable data and benchmarks to demonstrate the benefits of investing in model portfolios.
“Through FE Transmission advisers are be able to easily compare discretionary managers and real performance with complete transparency and we are proud to be a part of it." Scott Goodsir, Managing Director of Distribution for Old Mutual Wealth
We can also support you with Fact Sheet production and web-tools to allow you to demonstrate the value of your proposition to existing clients and new prospects.
The service takes advantage of FE’s ISO certified data distribution systems ensuring you have a single, clean and accurate source for all your model portfolio data. This means you can be confident your clients are seeing correct data and there are no discrepencies thereby protecting your reputation.
All data, literature and reporting is verified before being distributed, reducing your administrative burden and ensuring you remain compliant with externally driven regulation.
We can also support you in distributing your data more widely if required to other back office providers and platforms.
Benefits to Advisers
- Bespoke performance comparisons
The performance shown on FE Transmission is net of all historic fund transactions, portfolio rebalances and charges. Performance can be plotted across a variety of time horizons and reflects current prices which gives advisers the flexibility to compare models to benchmarks indices, existing portfolios or other models. It also means you can be sure that Advisers are comparing models on a like for like basis.
- Literature and client reporting
Advisers can access your literature or create their own reports to communicate the value of your model portfolios to investors. Bespoke, white-labelled reports can be produced showing performance, breakdowns, rations, underlying factsheets, KIIDS and other compliance documents.
Benefits to Model Portfolio Providers
- Efficiencies in distribution
FE Transmission offers model providers the opportunity to streamline the distribution of their portfolios, literature and updates; thereby improving accuracy and scalability.
We can also distribute your data to third party providers, back office systems and platforms.
- Stay in control
You remain in full control of your data on FE Transmission. With the dedicated DFM admin page, you can choose which advisers get access to your data and literature.
